Still Kicking

Thought I'd let you all know I haven't fallen off the edge of the planet. For some reason I've been in a very uninspired writing mood of late. No catastrophic life events or any such thing, just sort of a weird word funk. There have been numerous times of sitting down with a pen and a tablet with nothing to show for the effort. A few sentences hit the page and then I find myself looking out into space wondering what else to write. Arrrrgh!!

Heck, I've even been looking for a good meme to participate in. Now that's desperate!

The good news is a few projects around the house that have been needing to get done for a while have been completed. (insert a hurray from Lisa here)

I know the writing woes will pass; I went through this same void a long while back, but it is still frustrating in the mean time.

This month's Portrait of Words writing challenge stories are due to be posted starting Monday the 15th. Being that I'm the host of this little event, I better find inspiration quickly! No worries, with the next couple of days off, something will jive.

OK, enough rambling for now. Something of more substance to follow soon. . .

Ciao

Glad to see you haven't been abducted and probed by aliens. The PacNW is infamous for that, don'tcha know?

Songbird- Hey we've gotta have something to do during the cold, dark rainy season.

Katherine- Shhhhsssssh. don't go blowing my cover now.

Perhaps it's the weather? I know when it's gloomy outside, I'm not nearly as energetic.

Think about your brother. That may fire you right up. Just a thought.

Have a terrific day. :)

Howdy Jeff!

Hey, listen....the creative juices are just fermenting in that brilliant head of yours and will soon be uncorked, producing stellar bottle of wine!

Glad to hear that you've completed a few projects around the house!

Can't wait to read your next Portrait of Words!

And here are a few of my favorite things to maybe assist in your inspiration....

I think it's the time of year. Too many distractions to keep inspired thoughts flowing.

My POW is done and scheduled to post on the 17th.

If you want something to do I put a Christmas carol/song quiz up yesterday you could always try that! :)

You've been gone?

:-/

k....LOL...just kidding!

Yaknow--take what you need, Jeff. Sometimes it's about stepping AWAY and just 'being'.
Sounds like you've done a bit of that with the 'doing' (bet Lisa IS happy 'bout that).
Just BE where your feet are, eh?
Soon enough, that'll change.
We never get to sit still for long....leastwise I don't....

I was getting worried and started thinking that maybe you had slipped on a banana peel, fallen and hit your head or something.

Hmmmm...I think you're lack of inspiration has rubbed off on me. I just spent 5 minutes trying to figure out what to comment.

Sheesh!

Glad to know that you're alive and well. Thought that you might still be recovering from your Thanksgiving Feasts. :) I know that it took about 3 days for the tryptophan to clear my system. lol

Dang, I was hoping you had kicked the bucket. Guess that means you still get a present from someone this year.

Ramble on Jeffy. At least you accomplished stuff around the digs. That's good. Cheers!!

I either think of 4 posts at once, or struggle with one... no balance, is there?

Sandee- I'd like to blame the weather, but that usually doesn't start bugging me until around March when it's rained for sixty straight days.

Ron- Better that things are fermenting in my head than other places! And thanks for the fresh supply of exclamation points, ya nut.

Bond- I may have to resort to that too.

Nitebyrd- This year there are plenty of things to occupy our time aren't there?

Akelamalu- You'd think I'd have mine done too, but that isn't the case. Sheesh.

David- Yes, but I'm ready to get going again now.

Mel- I don't do sitting still very well. It's something I'm working on.

Dr John- Funny how that works isn't it?

BJ- Low and behold, he did come by with a zinger. Surprising?...Not!

Dana- I have to make that connection point between my brain and fingers.

Anndi- One a dees days Norton, One a dees days....

Travis- Sorry you got sucked into the vortex.

Cherie- No, just a good old fashioned case of the lazies I think.

Gene- Nope, still going. Guess you'll get to enjoy cheesecake for another year.

Matt- It's been nice to check a few things off the honey-do list.

Buffalo- So true. It's a flood or a drought sometimes.

Glad you are still on the planet cos I've only recently started coming here! LOL
I think many people are going through the doldrums just now & not so many doing blogging because of the Christmas rush etc.

I know what you mean Jeff...sometimes I sit in front of the computer for hours wondering if I'm word deprived or just lazy...but you're right, it passes..and when it does, I'll be right here to read your (sometimes) great thoughts and (always)funny out look on life!

Starrlight- I gave the stuff up about seven years ago. with as much gray as we have around here, it probably a really good thing.

Carletta- Only years later did I find the humor in it.

Sabrae- I can feel the mojo returning already. Yaaahooo.

Maggie May- I've noticed that too. Tis' the season I suppose.

Sandi- It's frustrating, but fortunately is does pass.

Jeff -- I am not going to make this posting party after all. Too much busy keeping me from writing time. Tis the season for parties and etc., and when one's partner is a musician, tis also the season for concerts every single flippin' night! He literally had 7 gigs in 5 days. I am tired. I don't know how OC does it! Plus his day job!

Anyway, maybe January will find me with a b it more free time.
