Pictures???

If you've come by looking for next month's Portrait of Words photographs they're not quite ready yet. I thought I was going to have time to do that this week, but my buddy Cole called with a work project he needed an extra set of hands on. This was right on time too, because work has been pretty scarce the past month. We always expect that to happen this time of year, but it's never fun when it actually does.

Anyway, I've been pretty tired by the time evening rolls around and haven't quite got the photos put into the graphics to display. Don't know if I'll get to them before this evening is over, but by tomorrow they will definitely be ready and posted.

After that I might even have a chance to catch up on your blogs too. I've skimmed a few posts the last couple of days, although I haven't been commenting much.

They're talking about the slight possibility of snow on Sunday. I kind of laughed, because on the news cast I watched tonight, the anchor woman more less called the weatherman "pond scum" for even mentioning it. The poor guy was just giving the forecast and he practically got shot for it.

Okay, that's it for now.

I'll be looking forward to the new pics. Around here, that poor weatherman hears a lot harsher words, at least by me.

We always blame the weatherman, especially if he smiles. LOL!

Well, yay for you for getting some work. I know how tough it can be this time of year.

I'm an admitted Craig Ferguson junkie. He's made frequent comments about new anchors blaming the "weather professional" for the forecast. LOL What is it that they say about the weather. Sure, people talk about the weather, but they never do anything about it! ;)

Work is good. Enjoy having a job right now. It's tough all over.

Have a terrific weekend and get some rest. :)

Jeff, don't you know, weathermen conjure the weather?

Btw, I continued my Mina story with Raven's Wordzzle and it is up at my place if you are interested in reading the rest.

BJ- The pics have arrived

Mel- Ya, and we're complaining about the remote chance of a slight dusting. Sheesh

Jay- What a thankless job that must be.

Songbird- You said it sista. January tends to be a loooong month.

Cherie- Exactly. All the can do is predict, not create.

Sandee- Already taking that advice. Slept in until around 7:30 am this morning. (about two hours later than normal for me)

Quilly- The way people blame the weather on them one would think so.

Quilly- I came by earlier and saw you had it posted. Didn't read it yet in case I get around to doing a Wordzzle today. Didn't want to influence my word usage.

Why is it that we blame the weather guys for the actual weather? They don't have some magical power to make weather happen.

I can see blaming them for getting the forecast wrong, but even that is kind of irrational. All they can really do is analyze the data and intepret it.

QWeathermen- Be wrong more than half the time, not get fired, and still make 80K+ a year....

January is our slowest month in downtown Santa Fe too. We always expect it, but we never like it. And this January, with all the doom and gloom in the economy, it's even slower than normal. Pond scum economists. Bad joke. It's not their fault. I don't want to get into identifying the particular species of pond scum here, however.
