The Heat is On

Our seven day forecast

Summer has officially arrived here in the Pacific Northwest. Long gone are the endless days of rain and drizzle, but don't worry, they will be back again. It is after all, Oregon. In fact the weather prognosticators are even calling for a day with a chance of the icky stuff early next week. Until then it's time to make some iced tea and get ready for the heat.

I know my buddy Ron from Vent will read this and the temps for the next few days will have no appealing value to him at all. He's one of those sickos who's idea of good weather is about fifty degrees and rain. You are a warped puppy my friend.

Then again, there is Songbird from The Ice Box who will look at our predicted high temps and laugh, knowing they are nothing more than a warm spring day in the desert she calls home. I know that because when I lived in Indio, Ca (near Palm Springs) we would call anyone who thought 90 degrees was hot, sissies.

Personally, my idea of just right is 75 with a slight salt air breeze. I believe this is otherwise known as San Diego.

So what kind of weather floats your boat?

Funny that I'm the FIRST to comment on this WEATHER post!

Yes...this is Ron the warped puppy from Philly who LOVES 50 degrees and rain. Actually...I much prefer 20 dgrees and snow.

OMG, Jeff...I'm looking at your 7 day forcast and it's actually hotter there than here!

And I'm SOOOOO envious.

*wink*

Sincerely,

The Sissy

Too hot that weather...what is amazing to me is that it goes from the 90's to the 70's in one week. Don't know if I would like that very much LOL.

Since I lived most of my life in Dallas, I didn't think I would ever think anything below 95 was really hot, but now that I'm in middle-of-nowhere farm country Illinois, horribly humid 85 is too hot to handle! San Diego would be my idea of perfect weather! Fortunately, we are having cooler temps this week. Today's high is 80.

Sissy!!

Last week--107.
Right now--55.

Variety is a good thing.

Ideally? I like what's called "Indian Summer". Hot days, cool nights...
NOT so fond of hot nights.
That's what air conditioning was invented for. *nodding*

72 and dew point of 50...breezy but not windy...sun to partly cloudy...yes, that is my perfect day and we get that maybe once a year. I guess you could say it's a pipe dream, lol!

We have one day of Spring in NJ then it goes right up to the 90's with heavy humidity for the rest of the Summer.

Ha! You know me too well, my dear Jeff! You're right - your predicted weather for the week is very much like our typical spring. This year, we've been rather wacky ourselves, though, with temps near 110 for days, and then a stint with sub 100s. Weird, wacky, and wild. Now it's monsoon time - who knows what will happen? Still, heat with humidity is awful. Yuck.

Yeah, San Diego is wonderful. I love the mild temps, but what tops it all is the salt air.

We're having very similar weather here in England. We've also had thunder, lighting and torrential rain! :0

I'm with you ... I'm usually quite happy with something between 70-75!

Thursday and Friday look too hot to me, but the rest look just fine and dandy!

In England we seldom get temperatures above 30C, which is around 86F, but that appears to be changing. However, it's usually for only a few days really, and then it settles down.

On Monday I stood outside in London, in temperatures which hovered around 28-33C most of the day. The official high was 32, but since I was in a crowd of people, I reckon that's a conservative estimate for our little micro climate. Humidity was very high, and it was far, far too hot for me, even in the shade.

Ideally, I'd like 26-28C with a nice breeze. That'd be around 79-82F. Oh, and LOW humidity. ;)

The cool, crisp weather of a Northeast autumn. I miss that more than anything.

I prefer temps in the 60's. I like it cool and crisp.

I can't complain too much about our summers here in the Puget Sound. It rarely gets too much above 90, and if it does it's only for a couple of days. Most of the rest of the summer is spent in the 80's, with temps going way down to the low 60's at night.

I spent my youth in the hot, and I don't want any more of it.

I was born and raised on the Oregon coast. It's cold when I go back. I mean cold and that's in the summer time. The temps you have there are nice summer temps for California. I don't like it when it gets past 100 for the most part.

Have a terrific day and enjoy the cool down. :)
