Juss Chillin

You've probably noticed that I haven't been posting much this past week. That's because I've be kicking back and hanging out with the family. Work was quite and the boys have had the whole week off school, so it's been fun to spend a bunch of time with them.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We had thirteen in total over for dinner this year, and opted for a completely non-tradition menu for a change. Grilled salmon, Caesar salad, Steamed green beans w/ garlic and balsamic, Shrimp cocktail, Twice baked - crab stuffed potatoes, and French onion soup.

Heading over to psycho mom's later today for a turkey dinner. . . yum.

Anyhoo, the picture below should pretty much sum-up the level of stress I've been experiencing this past week. You'll notice I'm kicked back visiting with a good friend up from California, Sally with a nice big smile on my face. Ya, these are the kind of weeks that are a nice change from the normal run, run, run that happens around here.

Hope you've all had a great week too. I'm sure I'll be back to blogging again next week and catching up with you. I had a post tugging at me in regard to the Black Friday chaos that happened in NY, but I decided to either not do it or just postpone it till the weekend was over.

Take care, and talk to you soon.

Glad you've had a great week off. Nothing better than spending time with family and friends.

Off to decorate the tree. Have a terrific day. :)

Sometimes postponing let's us think a thing through.More than you can say of much of the TV coverage.

Get back to work slacker!

Oh yeah, I almost're a loser.

Glad you've enjoyed the holiday. Daughter and I managed to avoid the Black Friday crowds by giving our business to the downtown stores instead of the malls and big department stores. Most stores only had one or two other customers. It was actually a pleasant experience and I normally detest shopping!

there is much to say about just kicking back and relaxing.

Oh I want to be chillin' too! I really really do! I think chillin' will come for me after the holidays!

Your week was the best medicine one could have. Glad it was good for you.

San said...

That's the kind of stress I like to live with, Jeff--the kind that is easily treated by a high dosage of twice-baked, crab-stuffed potatoes. YUM.

Chill, baby, chill.

Sandi McBride said...

I notice that the Non Traditional is going to be followed by the Traditional...Jeff, you cheer me, son, you really do! I'm so glad you and the family had good times together with friends gathered round. That is, after all, what Thanksgiving is all about!

***Gene- What would you kn ow about working, Mr vacation boy?***

Now you stressed me out. I may not be able to go back to work at all!

Glad to hear you had a good, relaxing turkey day and week!!! (I don't do Black Friday....I only do Cyber Monday!)

After a fair amount of cooking, I burn out... Sometimes relaxing without guilt is a wonderful tonic!

Sounds like heaven to me. :) And the great part is that you sound like you really appreciated it.

Long time, no see dude!!!!

Just read the post below and I saw it coming...I have done that in the past, but learned my lesson

Look, it could have been worse, the turkey could have fallen into a plate of dust like on "National Lampoons Christmas"

At least you had a second chance!

Starrlight said...

Ok where is my plate? You kept it for me, right? In the oven? Cause MAN that sounded good!

Jeff B said...

Bettygram- And the best part. . . no co-pay for the prescription.

San- The big chill was good, but now it's time to get back to the regular routine.

Sandi- It was mucho funo.

Gene- You should take at least three weeks off.

Odat- I just can't bring myself to join the fray on Black (chaos) Monday.

Buffalo- I know what you mean, Thank goodness for leftovers.

Cherie- AKA Mrs Claus. I like the Christmas avatar!

Bond- It has been a while. I haven't made the rounds for several days now. BTW, I got the CD in the mail a few days ago and have been enjoying listening to it. I'll be sure to do a proper post about it when I get off my lazy blog butt.

Starrlight- Sorry, all munched up, but Christmas is coming, so consider yourself invited!

Enjoy the rest of you week!

Late gator!

P.S. can't wait to read the Black Friday post!

Glad you're having a good and relaxing week. So important to have that "soul" time. Your Thanksgiving dinner sounds like it was awesome.

Dianne said...

Resting and relaxing is a good thing. I'm glad you got to do some of that over the holiday.

Jeff B said...

Ron- It was a nice time of relaxing, but now it's time to get back to it.

Raven- Too bad that kicking back isn't my full time job.

Dianne- "You look thin." Bless you. I'll have to remember to sit in that position more often!

Songbird- Me too!

Anndi said...

I decided not to say anything about that event on Black Friday as well... it would have been ugly.

Enjoy the relaxation.

Glad to hear you had a nice relaxing time with your family and friends!

I never could figure out your picture? And, then just now? It hit me, "Ooooh, that's his tongue sticking out of his mouth -- he's going for the silly, scary crazy look!" LOL!

I have a bloggie reader and I'm going to send her your way to participate in the writing project.

Now that I'm writing in the real world, I just don't have time! Total motivation? But, well, the kids and all. And, I did have them to love them, raise them, and be a part of their lives.

So, your new version of PFC had to give.. *sigh*

Though, I'm working on a chart! Blogging time, cleaning time, working time, cleaning time, cooking cool stuff time, cleaning time, sleeping time....

yeah, definite pattern there!

Jeff B said...

Anndi- I started writing a post about it a couple of times, but only vile things were coming out, so I canned it.

Kelly- It was big time fun. We'll be having a repeat performance in about three weeks.

Farmers Wife- Ya, that's my fresh escapee from the funny farm look.

Thanks for sending your friend over. I'll be looking for her. and I totally understand about the time management bit. Good to hear from you.

Still pondering that salmon and drooling.

Glad you enjoyed the holiday. The photo looks cosy!

Did you die? Naw, we couldn't be THAT lucky.

Real Live Lesbian said...

Sounds like a perfect holiday!

After 43 years of turkey...I'm ready for a change, too!

Jules~ said...

Wow that sounds like you really had a feast going there. Maybe everyone wasn't quite so sleepy without that turkey chemical coursing thru their bodies...but then again I am sure everyone over ate because of all the yummies you made.

Good for you for kicking back. I bet you feel great and it is well deserved.
Blessings to you.

Jeff B said...

Starrlight- Still here, thanks

Maggie May- It was a relaxing time.

Gene- Nope, not your lucky day today.

Real LL- It was a nice break and a whole heck of a lot easier!

Jules- You're right, no turkey downer. It was a good thing.

Well you better leave the house and head to Les Schwab since all the newsies are babbling snow. Next week look COLD.
