Just Leave Me a Note

After dinner last night Lisa and I (kids were at a friends house) stopped at the local Home Depot to pick up a couple of things. As we were making our way out of the parking lot something bright and colorful caught our eyes. As we got closer we discovered two guys with the biggest s&!t eating grins on their faces that could be imagined. The reason for their amusement was quite obvious the closer we got. They were putting the finishing touches on their masterpiece., a sort of Picasso in Post-it.

I was laughing too hard to get the story of why they were doing this, but I would assume a co-worker was about to be treated by their gift very soon.

As you can see they covered this once black car with hundreds of multicolored Post-it notes!

I then realized I didn't bring my camera (what was I thinking?). So, we raced back home, turned around and were able to get back in time to take these pictures before the "big discovery".

Now this is what I call good old fashioned fun.

Were they fonder of the Honda?

(I'm so glad you raced home to get your camera, Jeff. Brought a HUGE smile to my face!)

That is too funny. What colorful and clean fun. Did you wait around for the unsuspecting friend to come out?
Racing home to get the camera....suggestion...well I would assume that you have a cell phone because of your work. If so, does it have a camera feature? I don't always have my camera with me so my cell phone work great in a pinch.
Either way, thanks for sharing the fun.

*snickering*

I prefer saran wrap, personally.

Oh, the joy of surprising a coworker....LOL

Jeff, too bad you couldn't "stick" around to capture the expression on the co-worker's face!

Post-It notes ... what did we ever do without them? I bet these were the "super sticky" version too!

David- Just goes to show, you never know when something photo-worthy is going to present itself.

Jules- I thought about that too, but I intentionally left my phone at home. It was date night and I didn't want my phone ringing during our time out.

Buffalo- It certainly was eye catching.

Mel- Saran wrap huh? Remind me to stay on your good side.

Nitebyrd- I'll bet that would have been equally as fun to watch.

Dana- 1001 uses and still counting.

Bond- Yeah, that stuff can be nasty on paint.

Now that was creative! Way more creative than wrapping the car in saran wrap or aluminum foil.

I wonder if the guy just started driving real fast all those post-it notes would fly off the car like confetti? haha

Now you're what I call a dedicated blogger - Rushing home to get your camera! Well done, it's a great shot!

I'm a big post-it fan, I have them all over the place to remind me to do things!

That's a great picture, Jeff! Thank you for running home and getting your camera... Maybe the guy who owned the car was getting married... :)

Heh heh. I only wish you'd gotten the story. Good that you got the photos - thanks for sharing!

Jay- I had that same question. He/she at least had to remove the ones from the front windshield we hope.

Akelamalu- I should know better than to leave without that camera!

Teach- That could be. I've got a friend who will really get a kick out of this when I do it to him on his birthday. Oh ya, you bet I'm going to!

Sandee- Good clean fun. Gotta love that.

Songbird- I'm sure there was a good story to go along with it.

I've always loved a really good practical joke and this looks like one that should go down in some kind of "Best Practical Joke" list -just for posterity's sake, if nothing else! Too funny.

Jeff B said...

Rhea- I don't know who was laughing more, me or the guys doing the decorating.

Travis- I thought it was great. Nothing mean about it, just good fun. What a cool practical joke.

Real LL- Yeah, I hope the owner of that car wasn't some sour apples type.

Jeff B said...

Jeni- Agreed. I can see myself reinacting this one.

Ryanne- Those guys definitely got a point for ingenuity.

Kimmie- I can just see your gears turning. Please take a picture if you do what I think you're going to.

Carol- Good point. Instead of the negitive junk that makes the headlines, this would be refreshing to see in the media.

Akelamalu- Thnks, that was a bit of a surprise to me.

Carol- Agreed, that would have been the icing on the cake.

Crystal Jigsaw- Who'd a thunk it? Well, other than those guys of course.

Just found you from authorblog! What a great picture/idea and I do know exactly when I am going to do this and to whom I will do it! ;0
Hope they find it as humorous as I do. As a matter of fact I know a few people I could do this do. I probably would have to wear a 'Depends' though as I watch their reaction. Thanks for the inspiration.
