Happy Birthday Old Friend

Today marks Bubble Wrap's 50th Birthday!!!

Wahooo!!!

Who has not enjoyed a sheet or two of this during their lifetime? Ha, just thinking about this stuff puts a smile on my face. I've poked at the little bubbles one by one, put them on the ground and stomped on them and even twisted a sheet of them to get that machine gun like effect. Each and every time it's brought out my inner twelve year old.

And to think, some people even use them to ship things with. What fun is that?

Don't have any Bubble Wrap lying around to enjoy? No worries, click here. Once there scroll down and click on "Pop Some Virtual Bubble-Wrap Now" and you can have a virtual piece of your very own to pop. You use your mouse or touch pad to pop the bubbles (hint- hold down the shift key while popping to pop a bunch of them at a time).

Enjoy

OMG...how FUN was that?????

And I tried the "shift key" while popping and it sounded like gun shots!

YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hey, I'm gonna keep that link on my favorites for when I need to get out some frustration!

I used to work at a place where sheets of thestuff was put on the floor and than run over by a towmotor!

Everybody always starts out popping them one by one, but eventually starts rolling the wrap up like a newspaper and popping them all. So satisfying.

You can put it under the floor mat under your chair and roll back and forth and pop them that way too.

Ron- I knew you would love that site!!! Too fun

Mike- I'll bet that made a heck of a racket.

Jay- Yeah, you're right. Kind of like eating M&M's, I might be able to start one at a time, but eventually they're getting consumed by the handful.

When my first two nieces were really young, Jeff wrapped up a gift of bubble wrap for them for Christmas. The rest of us gave toys and clothes. Guess which was the most popular, and the one they were playing with for the entire evening after opening it! :-) Oh yes ... the bubble wrap!

I find I prefer the real thing to virtual bubble wrap. The good news is, I have a whole sheet and was just indulging myself with it yesterday. So therapeutic!

My husband used to bring home sheets of it from work for the kids to play with. Better than toys!

That is SO much fun! Bubble wrap is truly one of life's pleasures.

Kelly- That's funny. I'll bet you all laughed as much as your niece did too.

Quilly- Definitely not the same, but in a pinch it'll do.

Mostlygrocery- Yeah, instead of all the anti-depressant meds out there, they should just off Bubble Wrap to pop.

Susan- Hours and hours of good clean fun to be had.

Matt-Man- It could just be the best thing since sliced bread.

Nitebyrd- I wonder if the inventor of it ever dreamed of its other use.

This is why there is no re-using bubble wrap! Everyone does what you do to it.. don't they? I do!

Happy BD, BW! Is there anything more satisfying than popping a pocket of air?

Buffalo- You're right. Ha, a Bubble Wrap recycling plant would be a losing business for sure.

Bond- Hey, didn't look for the manic button. Gonna have to go back and pop a few more now.

Nessa- So simple...so enjoyable.

Hehe. My kids were taking bubble wrap last night and marching on it. We have laminate flooring, and it makes a great platform for the bubble wrap.

I have a bubble wrap application on my iPod touch; my kids and I have a contest see who can get the highest score. So far I'm in the lead. Go me!
