Haloween Eve Eve

It's getting close to Halloween and the sunshine outside today gave us the perfect opportunity to get some ooky spooky  decorations up. Most of the front yard is done. Black plastic trash bags cut into strips make a great backdrop to the front porch. When the wind blows they flutter and give a eerie feeling when it's dark outside.

Anthony, Lisa and I made a guillotine complete with a "blood" soaked blade. The severed head will be placed in the basket on Monday. Ah yes, a warm cozy, Hallmark, sort of family moment.

We also made a witch that appears to have flown directly into the column. That should get a few chuckles.

Tomorrow we will turn the garage into a haunted house. Mad science lab, Coffin with a demented zombie, Spiders with webs, snakes... yep, it's gonna be scary fun. On Monday we'll open the garage door and let the little monsters from the neighborhood come in and see our monsters. Lots of treats to hand out too.

Mel is gonna LOVE this post!

The guillotine complete with a "blood" soaked blade is freakin' BRILLIANT!

Way to go, Jeff!

Akelamalu- We're like a couple of kids ourselves too this time of year.

Ron- It's a blast. We don't try to scare the really little kids, but the bigger one's are fair game.

The teenage girls are the funniest. They scream so loud at some of the things jumping out at them, you could probably hear them two blocks away,

OH!! :-)

Bless your heart.

We cater to the very wee--so scary is at a minimum. It's a deal with the neighbors down the block who have animated horror chambers. LOL
NO--I don't go trick or treat there. I send 'he-who-likes-scary-stuff'. :-D

Yes, you are a good dad. Make that a GREAT dad! I bet all the kids in the neighborhood will be at your house. If I lived closer, I would be dragging my Grands over.

Mel- We have a code that's called out as the kids walk up. One for the little ones and another for the bigger (scarable)sized ones. That way no one jumps out and scares the dickens out of cute little kids.

Roan- I think there are people busing in kids from neighboring cities. From 6:00-8:00 it's a sea of little goblins and ghouls. That's OK though, I've got piles of candy at the ready.

That is WONDERFUL! So festive and fun .. and scary!!! I love Halloween. It's been quite a few years since we decorated or had a party but we always have lots of treats to give out. I bought a couple tubes of makeup so I might paint my face and I got a mask for Ron.
Happy Halloween to you and your family. ENJOY!!

We have "people like you" living in our neighborhood. I stopped by last night to thank them for everything they did to decorate for Halloween... Christmas, too! It is nice to drive by their home and see all of the hard work (not to mention money) that they put into making the holiday fun.

Your clumsy little witch was awfully cute. That is how I would drive a broom :)
